BRANDON MATTHEWS
President
Brandon began The Gray Pen Group after spending over fifteen years within the fields of construction, development, engineering, and management. He has conducted projects within the energy sector, ranging from small breaker change outs or pole replacements, to EPC projects and large $200MM+ utility programs in various locations all over the United States. He is passionate about the role of management and delivering a quality project on-time and on-budget, and he enjoys regularly networking with other industry professionals. Brandon founded The Gray Pen Group with a vision of delivering on client objectives through a focused hands-on approach to construction management. Brandon is a Maine native, having grown up in Winslow, who now resides in southern Maine with his wife, Erin, and children, Grayson, Penelope, and Lennon.
ERIN MATTHEWS
Co-Founder
Erin co-founded The Gray Pen Group along with her husband, Brandon, with the mutual goal of creating a successful company that exceeds in the EPC space while also maintaining their personal values: honesty, integrity, and making a positive impact in their community. With a degree in business management and accounting, Erin brings over 10+ years of leadership and business development to the team. She is passionate about finding ways to improve and evolve company standards and relations, as well as acting in an advisory role and supporting the company in any way possible. Erin and Brandon both reside in southern Maine with their three children, Grayson, Penelope, and Lennon. She enjoys spending as much time as possible with her children at home, on the boat, and at their family campsite.
PAUL HAROLDSEN
Chief Financial Officer
Paul brings a wealth of financial experience to The Gray Pen Group. He is a CMA who graduated with his MBA from Sacred Heart University and obtained his Accounting degree from Husson University. Using his financial expertise, he has worked for and assisted with the success of various prestigious companies such as Mobil Oil, Tyco, and Jøtul North America. Paul enjoys leading management teams in growing and bringing divisions and companies into profitability. Paul and his wife have lived in Kennebunk, Maine for the past 30 years, where they raised three beautiful children. Paul and his family enjoy biking and hiking in their free time.
LIAM MCALLISTER
Project Manager
Liam brings 4 years of experience in the electrical construction industry to The Gray Pen Group. His experience with multiple start-up companies and the role of "wearing many hats" has positioned him uniquely to provide lots of value to a growing company such as GPG. Liam's role includes managing projects and contractors from both the field and the office, supporting the project lifecycle with documentation, financial & data tracking, as well as the configuration and ongoing maintenance of GPG's in-house financial and project accounting software. He is passionate about business strategy and technology, and is always eager to learn something new. Liam currently lives in southern New Hampshire and enjoys spending his free time with his girlfriend, working on cars, and watching & playing sports.
MIKE REED
Project Manager
Mike brings nearly two decades of expertise in management and leadership to The Gray Pen Group. He is known for delivering complex projects on time and within budget. Mike's role as Project Manager finds him bridging on-site crews and engineering teams, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance. Before joining The Gray Pen Group, Mike served as an Executive Team Leader at Target Corp., where he led operations for a team of over 200 employees, emphasizing efficiency and adaptability. His leadership approach reflects his genuine nature, with his straightforward style and thoughtful communication. Outside of work, Mike enjoys a hobby of video game design and development, and is always eager for a new challenge.
DYLAN JANOSIK
Project Manager
Dylan brings years of personnel and project management experience to The Gray Pen Group. After graduating from Lasell College with a degree in Marketing, he moved into the tech space where he gained invaluable experience communicating with clients at all levels within an organization, as well as managing multiple departments and coordinating efforts across various timezones and countries. He later went on to earn his Certificate of Project Management through Cornell University. Dylan’s role encompasses everything within the project life cycle from the bid process and contractor schedule management, to construction management and project completion. He currently resides in southern Maine with his wife and three children.
BILLY SCHINZEL
Construction Manager
Billy comes from the world of construction and brings decades of valuable hands-on experience to The Gray Pen Group. His strong knowledge of safety principles and realistic approach to boots-on-the-ground construction is a key factor in the successful completion of Gray Pen projects. Having previously owned and operated his own construction company, he also has a deep understanding of what it takes to successfully lead a team while managing projects from start to finish. Billy's role at GPG involves the supervision and coordination of project construction and contractor teams with respect to safety, scope, and schedule. Billy is a Maine native, where he still resides with his wife and two young daughters.
KYLIE RICHARDS
Office Manager
Kylie graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a degree in Marketing. Before taking on the Office Manager role at The Gray Pen Group, she handled operations at a textile studio and had previously worked at the Unum Group in the disability insurance field. She is currently in an ever-evolving role at The Gray Pen Group, though her main responsibilities include AP & AR accounting, managing Human Resources, and assisting with various tasks for the project managers. Kylie lives in South Portland with her partner and their dog, Waylon. She loves to travel and spend all of her money within Portland's many restaurants.
